Susanne Dittrich

Bilbao

Suzanne hails from Munich in Bavaria, Germany and came to Spain in 1998 after living and working in many countries around the world. It was in Bilbao that she met her artist husband and fell in love with the countryside. She has a particular fondness for the Basque character, so genuine with a strong sense of self and their unique culture.

She studied economics and tourism but has dedicated the past 20 years to architecture, art and the history of art. These strings to her bow are now put to use as an official guide in the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao where she works in German, Italian, English as well as Spanish.

She’s proud to hold a role where she gets to spend time with people from all over the world and show them the Basque country. “I am always exited to explain the way of living, the traditions and the history of this pre-Indo-European country with the thousands of years-old language”.

She has also specialised in gastronomy and enology becoming a sommelier for the wines of Rioja in particular.
